A Day in the Life

Provide financial and business support to the Cranial and Spinal Technologies Operating Unit relative to commercial contracting activities. The Cranial and Spinal Technologies operating unit is comprised of the Spinal Implants, Biologics, Enabling Technologies, and Advanced Energy businesses.

The Associate Contract Analyst contributes to Medtronic's contracting department by providing contract and pricing analytics and operational support to the Field Sales Organization, Enterprise Accounts and Region Contract Managers. This support includes the drafting of custom and standard contracts for individual customers, regional hospitals, IDN's, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), and ASC management firms. Responsibilities also include building customer specific pricing strategies, supporting customer RFP initiatives and conducting other financial analysis to support pricing, contracting, rebate and new product launch strategies as needed.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Administers, extends, and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts for direct and indirect customers
  • Conducts contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper pricing in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Prepare customer-facing pricing quotes for Medtronic Neuroscience products
  • Support Customer Care, Credit Financial Services and other organizations to resolve pricing discrepancies and other related issues

  • Maintenance and review of membership changes to key health systems to ensure proper contract access
  • Ensures the accuracy of contracts and pricing; works with Internal Departments, Medtronic Distributors, Corporate National Accounts, and Sales to investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies
  • Prepares reports; advises management of process and system issues, compiles and analyzes data and maintains historical information
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers and vendors to provide world class customer service and quality assurance support regarding pricing and membership
  • Collaborate with Medtronic's internal sales support teams (field sales, credit and financial services, and customer service operations)
  • Contribute to providing an outstanding customer experience
  • Proactively identifies root cause, trends, issues, barriers and knowledge gaps in an effort to reduce discrepancies and increase customer satisfaction
  • Provides governance and support for outsourced work

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required

Nice to Have


  • 1+ years of experience supporting internal business operations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Travel may be required.
