Senior Financial Analyst - Commercial FP&A at Medline Industries, Inc. in Northfield, Illinois

Job Description:

This position directly supports Medline's Retail business and acts as a liaison between Medline's global entities and the US. The position involves analyzing and investigating complex information reported in the internal financial statements and other key financial reports as well as building new financial models. As a primary focus this role will provide forward-looking strategic support to business partners within senior management in order to drive continued rapid growth. This will include ad-hoc projects, special projects across peer groups and stretch assignments focused on profitability growth drivers. This position reports to the Alternate Sites Finance Manager.

Core Job Responsibilities


  • Analyze financial results, trends and metrics on a monthly basis; Communicate and present results and forward-looking strategic support to sales office leadership and their teams in the form of in-depth monthly business reviews

  • Perform ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and provide decision support for future business planning decisions and investments

  • Engage with the sales office through customer profitability analysis, customer/sales goals analysis, etc. in order to gain a more complete understanding of the businesses

  • Build, maintain, and communicate financial models pertaining to selling partner expense allocations and corporate selling expense forecasting

  • Create, facilitate, and guide initiatives to improve profitability for existing business

  • Support the month end close process and review internal Financial Statements before they are published

  • Assist in the preparation of management reports to be distributed to the executive leadership team

  • Reporting standardization and development

  • Own Retail forecasting efforts (AOP, LRP, and Quarterly Outlooks)

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 3 years of financial planning, reporting, and analysis experience.
  • Advanced skill level in ERP financial systems, specifically SAP.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel (preferably with Power Pivot, macros, etc), SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau
  • Retail consumer goods knowledge and experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
