Job Overview
The Account Manager will manage, develop and maintain business relationships with existing and potential clients to meet sales objectives.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage all sales and service responsibilities for assigned accounts to include: Marketing, QA, Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement.
• Negotiate strategic contracts and pricing programs.
• Proactively develop business growth opportunities from data analysis and present the information to customers.
• Develop category management relationships at customers that establish GLC as the go-to resource for insights and business process best practices.
• Support key business opportunities by recommending solutions based on applicable data.
• Maximize the value of the Broker services for our product line.
• Promote new items and processes that present profitable opportunities to pursue within account.
• Understand GLC operations and competitive priorities.
• Monitor competitive environment, from both competing retailers and brand activity perspective.
• Recommend and execute product line changes based on environmental advantages.
• Direct Sales Operations, Customer Service and Supply Chain personnel to assure smooth flow of new items through the product development, approval, and packaging stages.
• Address significant product complaint issues.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.
• 1 to 5 years of sales experience in the Retail Food Industry with an emphasis on National Accounts or more.
• Strong presentation skills to include market, trend and commodity conditions.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to cooperate, coordinate, direct and inspire the productivity of others, and lead cross functional teams and key customers.
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
• Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Up to 50% of travel.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Master's degree.
• In depth understanding of GLC product offerings, customer base and related issues.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
