Job Description:

Principal Engineer/Scientist

1. A person skilled in configuration management
   
   
   1. This person will be able to maintain an inventory for several large systems in a shared environment
   2. This person will be able to generate reports on the configuration of each system that encompasses both physical and logical configurations
   3. This person will be able to monitor service contracts and licenses for each system and will alert system owners/program managers when contracts/licenses are ready for renewal
   4. This person will be able to generate quotes for service contracts, hardware, software, and licenses using SAVES in accordance with the FAA's standard acquisition practices
   5. This person will ensure that PM's understand when due dates are approaching and ensure that quotes are submitted in a timely manner to purchasing
   6. This person will routinely audit the lab configuration for deviations from the established baseline

1. A person skilled in hardware and software installation, configuration, and management
   
   
   1. This person will be able to physically and logically install/configure servers, switches, routers and other computer hardware across multiple physical sites at the WJHTC
   2. This person will be responsible for managing IP Supplemental Forms and ensuring continued network connectivity for tenant programs
   3. This person will be responsible for ensuring that proper power and cooling are provided to all tenant systems
   4. This person will be responsible for ensuring that vendor-installed hardware is installed in-line with applicable standards
   5. This person will be responsible for automating system configuration and installation to the greatest degree possible with respect to customer requirements
   6. This person will be able to use Ansible Automation Platform and other similar tools in the course of their duties
   7. This person will be responsible for communicating any changes made to the environment to the CM responsible party for the lab

Qualifications - Minimum Required: BS in engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline with 15 years of ATC/M systems design and development support experience
