Communications Partner at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

As a Communications Partner, you will support internal communications and community relations for PPG's architectural coatings U.S. and Canada business communications team. As a member of this team, you will work in a fast-paced environment with leaders from across PPG, and with members of PPG's communications, marketing, and community relations teams.

You will report to the Associate Director, Communications and help deliver professional, and responsive support to all team members in order to meet organizational expectations and requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and proofread internal communications material, including employee messages, talking points, intranet content, e-blasts, and coordinating appropriate approvals for dissemination.


• Manage digital signage network and related content.


• Manage logistics and technology platforms associated with employee townhalls, podcasting, etc., including Microsoft Teams.


• Draft content and post to intranet sites.


• Work closely with the communications team to identify storytelling opportunities and "maximize the moment" across channels.


• Manage employee communications effectiveness survey and follow up action plan.


• Draft content for inclusion in regular sales communications e-newsletters.


• Liaise with support partners to ensure maintenance of support materials used to provide direction to, and communicate with, the sales and operations organizations.


• Manage community relations efforts, including oversight and support of PPG's COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program and PPG Foundation grants, in addition to product donation requests.


• Track, analyze, and present data through scorecard reporting.


• Coordinate translations of communications to and from English, French and Spanish as appropriate.


• Coordinate with freelance writers and assist with special projects as needed.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or a related discipline.


• 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, public relations, media relations or related field.


• Ability to connect and partner collaboratively at all levels within an organization.


• Exceptional writing skills and working knowledge of Associated Press style.


• Thorough knowledge of business writing, editing and proofreading.


• Excellent planning, organization and project management skills.


• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams; SAP familiarity preferred.


• Experience in a large, global organization is an asset.


• Ability to be on-site at PPG's Architectural Coatings US and CAN headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pa. three days per week.


• Less than 10% travel may be required.
