Position Summary:

Provide technical support for gasket materials and gasket design. Interpret and coordinate a wide range of test procedures/methods for technical analysis, production verification, quality control, or according to customer specific requirements.



Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Read and approve part drawings
  • Full coordination of engineering design work between departments and locations (including FEA, CAD/Drawing, Tooling, Stamping, and Quality).
  • Prepare / order samples and test setup / preparation as required
  • Track and report program status on a regular basis
  • Provides technical sealing material recommendations of new business applications
  • Develop a strong proficiency across a broad range of test protocols/methods
  • Gain a firm understanding of polymer material coatings and associated technologies
  • Provide written reports and technical results for project team and management
  • Contacts customers alone and jointly with Account Managers to provide design support for customer requests. Leads technical customer presentations, as needed.
  • Supports, and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with Solidworks needed. AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Mechanical background including GD&T and dimensioning.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret ASTM and related global testing standards.
  • Ability to effectively prepare and present information to customers, or senior management.
  • Problem solving and analysis skills that include the collection, evaluation and reporting of data and information related to system problems and observations.
  • Other desired skills: technical competency/expertise in static sealing, product/process development, IATF 16949, metallurgy, polymer science, failure analysis, test and analysis systems, global restricted/hazardous substance regulations, project management, and CAD/Solid Modeling.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
