This role will be a critical business partner across the Retirement Strategies Actuarial and technical teams. They will be responsible for leading the transformation of the Individual & Institutional Retirement Strategy Pricing Models. To do this will require partnering with Pricing team to understand their needs and pricing processes in addition to driving alignment where appropriate with Valuation modeling- all while leaning into the Financial Management Transformation happening across Actuarial.

This position will report to the Retirement Strategies Modeling, Methodology & Assumption lead, and will serve as the key point of contact for all the retirement strategies pricing teams. They will own of all the tools and models used by the Retirement Strategies Pricing teams and execute on streamlining across the wide range of modeling platforms currently in use (MatLab, Python, C#, VBA, etc) with the objective to reduce the ongoing effort needed to build and maintain the pricing models while simplifying the pricing process.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:


  • Coordination and collaboration across a range of business partners with exposure to all annuities, stable value, structured settlement, pension risk transfer and longevity risk transfer products

  • Lead, to maintain and enhance the retirement strategies end to end pricing processes.

  • Sharing of best practices of modeling architecture and grid/cloud computing capabilities

  • Partner across Prudential to understand and drive modeling infrastructure, including

  • Partnering with CIO to utilize the ALM Engine and TARDIS,

  • Partnering with Global Capabilities team to build tools that can be utilized across actuarial functions and products, and

  • Partnering with Assumptions & Methodology teams to implement and deploy new assumptions

  • Lead a team of actuaries and coding experts spanning all Retirement Strategies products

  • Drive the transformation of end-to-end pricing processes by understanding current pain points to creatively build towards more streamlined models and tools

What you’ll need:


  • Professional actuarial designation FSA, FIA or equivalent strongly preferred, career ASA may be considered

  • 10 or more years of primarily U.S. individual and Institutional product experience with product development, pricing, reinsurance, actuarial and financial projections

  • Technical expertise specifically building and/or maintaining actuarial modeling platforms, Python and/or Grid Computing

  • Strong leadership skills to guide a team of 10+ associates to execute on tight timelines and balance multiple priorities from a range of stakeholder

  • A transformational leader willing to push the status quo to drive meaningful change

It’d be a plus if you had:


  • Experience with Pension, Annuity, Stable Value and/or Structured Settlement products

  • Hands on experience with MATLAB, Python/PyVal, TARDIS, C# and/or other modeling platforms

  • Investment /ALM experience including developing models to perform ALM projections

  • Front end web development experience such as with flask or DASH is desirable

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies

  • Strong project management skills including the ability to balance multiple urgent priorities

  • Quantitative and analytics skills, including the ability to assimilate concepts and assess situation

The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
