Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, provide school health and nursing services to Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE) member districts; promote health and prevention education and safety; and refer students, parents or guardians to appropriate community resources or recommended health service programs. **Tentative interview date is April 22, 2024.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possess a valid School Health Services Credential; OR • Be eligible to apply for said Credential by meeting the subsequent two requirements, as well as willingness to complete additional coursework required to clear Credential; o Possess a valid California State License at the level of a Registered Nurse; o A Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, • Three (3) years of nursing experience, with one (1) year in a community health setting is desirable. • Possess a valid First-Aid and CPR Certificate; • Possess or obtain within the first year of employment a valid School Audiometrist Certificate; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance. BENEFITS Employees are provided with an insurance plan, which includes health, vision, and dental insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents, at a shared cost. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS) and may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union.
