Job Description:

What You Will Do

• Improve throughput and reduce cycle times.


• Reduce or eliminate waste.


• Understand the process, define critical parameters, meet customer standards, and apply that knowledge gained in a daily manufacturing environment.


• Assist in improving the process to ensure production deliverables as required.

How You Will Do It (projects can include)

• Performing motion and time studies in the formation and shipping lines.


• Documenting and optimizing conveyor belt speed throughout SLI Formation Exit.


• Reducing battery jams (scrap) and equipment “starved” time.


• Reducing SLI table loading time.

What We Look For

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.


• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering preferably in the last year.


• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.


• 
  Duration: Summer 2024. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.


• 
  Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in San Antonio, TX.

Our San Antonio, Texas distribution center charges, packages, and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 1995, now employ more than 265 people, and operate seven days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through Toys for Tots, The Strong Foundation and Soldier’s Angels.
