ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Global Employee Communications will be a key member of the Global Employee Communications team and business partner to the company's global HR function. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic employee communication programs designed to uphold SC Johnson's commitment to being the best place to work for people inspired by our values and purpose. You will orchestrate and manage the global HR communication strategy, including the cadence of corporate HR initiatives, to ensure employees are informed in an impactful, timely and measurable way. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain communications governance while effectively influencing the messaging and channel strategy. This role will work closely with the HR leadership team and offer communications counsel to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide strategic counsel and tactical support for a variety of employee-facing communications including organizational changes, people moves, benefits, inclusion & diversity programs, work/life initiatives, awards and recognitions, and various change management programs

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to identify and capture employee stories and corporate news to attract and retain talent, both internally and externally

  • Write and edit relevant HR communications and content while ensuring consistent messaging is reflected across all HR communication platforms, including language, tone, and linkage to business strategies and other functional comms

  • Maintain oversight of HR planning calendar including employee comms, corporate initiatives (e.g. surveys) and events, and coordinate changes, when necessary

  • Develop messaging for Great Place to Work and other employer of choice submissions, and partner with Talent Management and Culture team to cascade globally

  • Support HR events including CHRO Town Halls and leadership meetings, inclusive of content development and logistical oversight

  • Provide support for branding global HR communications and initiatives aligned with the overall strategy

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field and 7+ years' experience in corporate communications or consulting environment, or related field, OR 5+ years' experience with an advanced degree

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively tailor approach to reach varied audiences

  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute complex global programs while working through ambiguity

  • Ability to add value by synthesizing complex messages, developing compelling narratives and creating emotional connections to employees globally

  • Demonstrate global cultural awareness, sensitivity and understanding of working within a corporate environment

  • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence peers and superiors. Must be able to quickly build confidence among senior leaders and all stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of HR or corporate reputation work desired

  • Organizational leadership with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects or roles in an evolving environment

  • A collaborative, flexible and highly-motivated style, with an approach to work that motivates and energizes others

  • Strong experience and knowledge of social media tools and techniques for advancing HR messaging

JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Able to travel 5-10% of the time

  • Office work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees
