Team Overview:
The Wealth Management Advice and Solutions (WMAS) division is responsible for leading the firm in ensuring our clients are on track to meet their financial goals. Within WMAS, the Wealth Management Consultation (WMC) department serves as the dedicated Home Office planning, investment and advice specialists partnering with our branch teams to deliver tailored and client-segmented Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) consultation and guidance to meet our clients' wealth management needs.

As part of the dedicated client team, our Portfolio Consultation Group (PCG) exists to bring forward investment consultation capabilities by partnering with financial advisors to develop and implement the tailored investment advice and personalized portfolio construction sought by clients, in alignment with firm advice and guidance, that meet their most important needs and aid in driving positive branch team/client experiences. Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) consultation and guidance to meet our clients' wealth management needs.

What You Will Do:
  • Partner with and support financial advisors as Home Office investment specialists to deliver the high-quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required to meet our client's wealth management needs.
  • Independently and consistently provide the right level of consultative support across the client journey based on client segment (Core, HNW) and unique situation across our various service models - from the creation of tailored investment advice and strategies to the portfolio analysis, construction, and implementation needed to bring a financial plan to life - to drive the right outcomes and experiences.
  • Support financial advisors with the most complex, sensitive high-net-worth client investment portfolio scenarios to deliver more personalized, tax-efficient, and robust portfolio construction and portfolio transition advice (i.e., asset allocation, tax minimization, optimal investments, asset location), in alignment with firm advice and guidance.
  • Provide tailored, dedicated, and ongoing expert level case management support to meet the needs of our high-net-worth clients based on client objectives, risk profile, account mandates, and personal preferences.
  • Lead or actively contribute to key strategic initiatives/projects within the Wealth Management Consultation department and across the WMAS division, in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders, that enables the firm's evolution to deliver strong goals-based advice, financial planning, and asset management services.
  • Work in partnership with WMC internal stakeholder groups (list out) to ensure proper alignment and continued evolution in concert with business segment and APPS strategies.
  • Manage significant branch team/client escalations and direct resources to achieve the right results.
  • Achieve results through others, by serving as an informal leader and mentor to develop newer associates on the team and across Wealth Management Consultation department.
  • Have deep understanding of industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes - assess how these themes impact our fee-based program offerings (Core Wealth, Signature Experience), the implementation of firm advice and guidance, and the ability to deliver the personalization sought by current/prospective clients.

What Experience You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree. Finance background and/or advanced degree preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or completion within 6 months of hire).
  • CFA designation required (or progress towards)
  • 10 years of Financial Services experience required
  • 7+ years of relevant portfolio management, portfolio construction, and/or investment consultation experience strongly preferred.

Functional Knowledge:
  • Advanced technical aptitude, analytical, and critical skills.
  • Deep, expansive subject matter expertise on economic, investment, and portfolio management strategies and concepts.
  • Advanced skills in some of the following areas: systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, project management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to provide concise, relevant market commentary and periodically explain complex investment terms/concepts directly to clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and wealth management software tools (i.e., Aladdin Wealth, Morningstar, FactSet).
  • Problem Solving - problems faced by associates in this role tend to be advanced/complex and are based on the specific needs of current and prospective high-net-worth clients.
  • Decision Making - the decisions in this position are high in impact and complex in nature.
  • Span of Influence: High - role requires significant decisions with a direct impact on FA/client outcomes.
*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
