RESPONSIBILITIES
High Performance Computing (HPC) Specialists maintain high performance computing ecosystems including identifying solutions to requirements for complex hardware and software computing infrastructure, data storage, and security. HPC Specialists play a vital role at NSA by providing life-cycle support for one or more unique computing systems including building, testing, monitoring, maintaining/repairing, security patching, or refreshing systems. HPC Specialists upgrade and decommission systems, re-configure systems, and optimize performance to meet the computing needs of internal customers and manage relationships with external vendors.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate is someone with a desire for continual learning and who possesses strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills, and is: - people focused - accountable - adaptable - detail-oriented - customer service & requirements oriented - able to work effectively in a collaborative environment - able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables Relevant experience must include Linux and scripting (for example, Python, Bourne shell, PERL). In addition, it may also include maintaining hardware or software over their lifecycle (i.e., requirements analysis, implementation, testing, integration, deployment/installation, and maintenance), or computer/network security, or high performance computing.
PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Salary Range: $72,553 - $181,216 (Full Performance, Senior) Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position. On the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).
