Job Description:

Job Objective: To provide hands on, in plant support to a wide variety of golf ball manufacturing equipment in a 24 hour continuous manufacturing environment. Support of new and existing machine vision systems and robotic systems is a key area of focus. This includes the design of new systems, the continuous improvement of existing systems, the documentation of procedures, machine wiring, writing and/or editing PLC programs, vision system camera software and the training of maintenance and operations personnel.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Install and debug machine vision systems, robotic systems, and general machinery and implement modifications.

  • Support electrical and mechanical aspects of new equipment installations and relocation of existing equipment in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

  • Apply state of the art machine vision and robotic system technology in new and existing manufacturing equipment for the production of golf ball products.

  • Assist in training maintenance and operations personnel.

  • Assist in providing, developing, and maintaining documentation packages including CAD drawings, PLC programs, change notices, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals.

  • Work as a member of a team to design equipment control, measurement methods, data collection, or power distribution for new and existing equipment.

  • Lead smaller projects with minimal direction in a team or as an individual contributor.

  • Manufacture parts and or wiring of equipment assemblies.


Education: Associates degree/college level certificate in Electrical discipline or 100% completion of TPC electrical program required. Electrician's License required.


Experience: A minimum of 7 years experience within a manufacturing environment supporting installation and debugging of new and existing automation and controlled machines, which include subsystems of machine vision and robotics. Must be proficient in programming and modifying new and existing PLCs, HMI's and other programmable devices associated with automation systems. Specific experience within a controls environment, installing and debugging machine control systems including; data collection systems and networking. Demonstrated ability to work and succeed in a team environment with the ability to train others and to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.


Physical Requirements/Environmental Factors: Some travel may be required to support current facilities and other locations, attend trade shows, seminars, training and educational events. Must be able to be in a manufacturing environment on a regular basis for extended periods of time and is therefore exposed to dust, heat, chemicals, and noise that is present in a manufacturing environment.


Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Formal training in machine vision, robotics, PLC functionality. Working knowledge of mechanical systems and instrumentation and controls. Working knowledge of CAD drawing systems
