Walmart's People.AI team is seeking an exceptional Staff Graph Engineer to architect, design, and implement our cutting-edge intelligent knowledge graph using Neo4j graph database. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your advanced technical expertise and leadership abilities to drive our team's mission to construct a sophisticated knowledge graph that will enhance our understanding of people, job, relationship, career development, and more, ultimately empowering our organization to create more effective, personalized, and predictive employee experience.

The Enterprise People Technology team supports the successful deployment and adoption of new People technology across the enterprise. What you'll do:



  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Work with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and data engineers to design, architect, build, and evolve the intelligent knowledge graph for people domain.

  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and ontologies for the knowledge graph, ensuring they accurately represent complex people-related concepts and relationships.

  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to deployment, maintaining robust and scalable solutions.

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Innovate and experiment with new ways to utilize graph databases for machine learning applications, especially for Generative AI and Large Language Models.

  • Continuously stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in the field of knowledge graphs and Neo4j, applying these learnings to continuously improve our systems.

  • Work with a set of robust work standards to ensure we build trustworthy AI/ML solutions.




What you'll bring:




Must-have experiences



  • Proven experience in architecting and implementing graph database using Neo4j, with 5+ years of hands-on experience.

  • Deep understanding of graph theory, graph algorithm, and data modeling.

  • Extensive experience in collaborating with data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop solutions for complex business problems.

  • Strong background in software development, particularly in Python or Java, with a thorough understanding of the complete software development lifecycle.

  • Prior experience in leading technical teams and managing large-scale projects is a must




Supplemental skills



  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and holistically about complex systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure would be advantageous

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00


Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.


Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:


- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)


- Stock equity incentives
