Job Description:

Summary
The Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of events and activities aimed at enriching campus life and engaging our student body, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. The Coordinator works closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that events align with the university's mission and values while creating memorable experiences for all participants.

Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute campus-wide events, including orientation programs, student activities, alumni events, academic and professional conferences, summer camps, and community events.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, student organizations, and external vendors to develop event concepts, themes, and timelines.
Manage event budgets, expenses, and financial transactions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, equipment rental, catering, transportation, and accommodations.
Develop marketing and promotional strategies to increase event attendance and engagement, utilizing both traditional and digital channels.
Create event materials such as invitations, programs, signage, and multimedia presentations.
Recruit, train, and supervise event volunteers and staff members, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Oversee on-site event operations, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise and ensuring a smooth and successful event experience for all participants.
Evaluate event effectiveness and gather feedback from attendees to inform future planning and improvement efforts.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and relevant regulations related to event planning and management.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event planning, marketing, communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in event coordination, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and flexible approach to overcoming challenges.
Proficiency in event planning software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques, with experience in promoting events through various channels.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as needed to support event activities.
Strong agreement with and personal commitment to the Universitys mission, statement of faith (Baptist Faith and Message, 2000), and the Universitys Principles and Expectations
