JOB LOCATION: Waukee Family YMCA - Learn & Play Center
SHIFTS AVILABLE: 6 - 20 hours a week; Weekday morning and weekend shifts available.
PAY RATE: $10.50 - $12.25+ per hour, dependent upon experience
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: April 9th, 2024 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Learn & Play Center Staff will be responsible for assisting in planning and implementing all curriculum and program activities in the Learn & Play Center. This individual guides the development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy environment. This position works as part of a team to deliver professional customer service and builds relationship to create a welcoming environment. The individual will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervise and lead children in the Learn & Play Center.
Help to plan, organize, and deliver activities and programs.
Demonstrate and teach activities.
Develop positive relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and co-workers.
Help cultivate a positive culture by modeling healthy relationships and open communication.
Lead the Learn & Play Center in creating a compassionate and nurturing environment.
Follow program standards in regards to safety, cleanliness, and age appropriate programming and interactions.
Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.
Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
