Job Description:

Product Manager is responsible for purchasing product, product planning and management for the organization to increase profitable market share growth for a specific group of products. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product for customer requirements. Product Managers bridge the gap among different departments and suppliers on product communication to maximize customer service levels by maintaining an accurate database, reviewing inventory replenishments, and minimizing dead stock.

The preferred location for this position is our corporate headquarters located in Tacoma, WA. Other physical locations to be considered are based out of other company locations such as Everett, WA; Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Upland, OR; Sparks, NV; Phoenix, AZ; Longmont, CO; Knoxville, TN; Tampa, FL, or Lawrence, PA. Remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

Job Responsibilities

Managing Inventory

· Meet performance metrics such as service level & inventory turn goals

· Purchase of goods to ensure that the company operational needs are met for each branch

· Source alternatives of goods as necessary to meet customer needs

· Evaluate, review and adjust replenishments for branch inventory on a regular basis

· Transferring of goods between branches

· Manage deadstock and excess inventory, in addition conducting stock returns to suppliers

Managing Supplier Relationships

· Review & approve new supplier requests

· Establish, engage, and communicate with suppliers on a regular basis

· Negotiate pricing, programs, and terms on behalf of Stellar

· Expedite purchase orders to ensure delivery to meet customer needs

· Communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact on business operations.

· Assess and evaluate suppliers’ performance based on supplier metrics

· Explore alternate sources for goods and materials

Managing Database

· Maintain database integrity with up-to-date product, item information and supplier pricing information

· Maintain & update supplier information as needed

· Ensure changes in ERP System are communicated to employees as necessary

Managing Inter-Departmental Relationships

· Works directly with the Commercial team and Branches on SMI activations and customer specific inventory

· Works directly with Warehouses on shipment discrepancies and receipt issues

· Works with Accounting department on New Supplier setups, Invoice discrepancies and EDI processes

· Assists with List Management opportunities

· Assists with Training Interdepartmental team members

· Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency that adds value to company’s business performance

Qualifications

· 1-3 years of relevant customer service and/or purchasing experience in an industrial distribution setting or other related field

· Exceptional analytical, problem solving and time management skills

· Strong computer skills required with proficiency in MS Office

· Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

· Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are essential

· Experience with Prophet 21 (P21) preferred

· Able to work in a team environment

· Must be a self-starter and able to multi-task

· Must be able to sit for long periods of time

· Excellent data entry skills and able to work with a computer screen for long periods of time
