As a Vision & Automation Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Maintain a safe work environment


• Adjust and modify existing vision system software & programs


• Program and troubleshoot PLC software and hardware


• Interpret PLC ladder logic & machine sequence of operation


• Troubleshoot/repair/maintain vision hardware systems  


• Design and fabricate vision system structures, mounts and other hardware


• Perform vision system calibrations


• Complete shop records and use reporting system following established procedures as required for effective performance of the job or operation of the department


• Other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)


• Possess a one (1) year technical diploma/degree or higher in a Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics or Maintenance discipline from an accredited institution or three (3) years of experience in Maintenance

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Possess a two (2) degree in a technical field


• Ten (10) years of experience in Maintenance


• Experience with installation, set-up and maintenance with Keyence and Cognex vision systems and software


• Experience with Allen Bradley software: RS Logix, Control Logix, Factory Talk ME, Guard Logix


• Experience with installation, set-up and maintenance of Robotics: Kuka and Fanuc Robots

Work location: Onsite – Tennessee, Clinton

The starting rate of pay for this position is $34.49, with the potential to reach $38.62 . This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
