We have an exciting opportunity for a Consulting Engineer Specialist (CES) on our Industrial Automation End User Ecosystem team. It involves listening to the consulting engineering firms you are assigned to and offering solutions that serve their end user customers' long-term needs. The CES is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the influence relationship at every level with identified specifiers in their region. Drives new business through these partners by identifying, developing, and influencing project designs to include Schneider Electric Industrial Automation solutions. The CES targets potential leads, qualifies them, and supports the Schneider Electric pursuit team in crafting and positioning our solutions. To this end, they leverage their industry and financial business knowledge to create demand and persuade through the development and presentation of compelling design, purchase, and construction rationales. While the focus will be on automation product solutions designed and specified by the assigned consulting engineering firms, product, services and solution sales may encompass all Schneider Electric EcoStruxure offerings and may range in scale from product sales to complex, multi-service, multi-year projects. Specific sales/revenue and profit margin targets are established annually by management.


  • Develop influential relationships at key specifying engineers in the region, across several market segments, and persuade them to incorporate Schneider Electric solutions and technologies in their designs and bid documents for complex automation and control systems.

  • Drive strategic growth at assigned accounts. This role serves as the lead interface for demand generation for Control System Consultants. The Consulting Engineer Specialist's specification efforts should directly position Schneider Electric to win orders prior to projects going out for bid.

  • Connect Consulting firms and their End User customers to cutting-edge offers, applications and tools to help them achieve their project objectives.

  • Consult with C-Level Executives, Principals, Lead Engineers, and key Staff Engineers to bring awareness of Schneider Electric innovations.

  • Work collaboratively with personnel across Schneider Electric including, but not limited to Consulting Application Engineers in Energy Management, Regional system integrator leads, systems architecture engineers, end user automation sales executives, and channel management roles, to drive new business.

  • Facilitate smooth transitions of new business from design to sales to delivery.

  • Provide insights to the Schneider Electric strategic portfolio function relative to industry trends, competitors' actions, and code trends, as well as feedback on specifier wants and needs

  • Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric sales processes and business approval requirements

Job Essential Functions

Consulting Engineer Specialists on the End User Ecosystem team are responsible for managing opportunities through the entire process from identifying prospects, to influencing the specification, to facilitating a smooth sales process. Other job essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Create and maintain territory sales plan
    • Drive growth through collaboration with, and influence of, specifiers and consulting engineers, system integrators, and SE Automation distributors


  • Identify consulting engineering firms with expertise in different market segments & applications, who provide and/or influence End User design specifications.

  • Identify prospective end user customers, not already on End User target lists, who are being served by assigned specifiers and create entry strategies for each.

  • Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions

  • Execute competitive sales tactics to win business

  • Manage demand and qualify opportunities


  • You're an evangelist. You thrive on sharing technologies and solutions that challenge the status quo and improve client outcomes.

  • 5 + years of solution selling experience in manufacturing facilities (e.g., Water /Wastewater, Metals Mining & Minerals, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) including Food & Beverage/ Life Sciences).

  • Strong technical knowledge: Automation Systems and Solutions, PLC, CONTROLS, Drives, HMI, SCADA, MES

  • Knowledgeable of Business Solutions and Manufacturing Applications

  • Ability to establish CXO level relationships

  • Track record of meeting/exceeding yearly quota

  • Experience in business transformation solutions

  • Ability to understand Control Architecture Systems, and the value they bring to customers

  • Engineering design experience may be a plus
