Job Description:

This position is within the US Business Operations Energy Business, Power Systems BU. Ideal location for candidate is in the Midwestern, Mountain or South West Region of the US. Power System Architects are segment experts with deep understanding of Customer business, processes and technical solutions. This is a critical role in support of the National Sales Force and Strategic Accounts team in the pursuit of large projects. Requires commercial expertise as well as technical expertise for low and medium voltage switchgear. From an internal perspective the Power System Architect is a key player in the Customer Project Process (CPP) from Pre-Sales and Tendering to Project Execution and Services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pre-sales & Sales. Support regions on customer pre-sales and sales activities (presentations, demos, understand customer needs)

  • Proposal Assessment (Solution design and guidance, Offer alignment & Risk assessment)

  • Provide thought leadership

  • Create & disseminate segment knowledge

  • Product Assessment. Support Strategy & Marketing with guidance, content and product inputs/feedback for roadmap


  • Project Execution assessment and evaluation

  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to identify market opportunities; adjust marketing strategy and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.

  • Liaison with other functional and operational area managers (particularly in sales, customer service, production, research and development) to ensure that marketing strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with the overall company position

  • Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of opportunities

  • Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions

  • Execute competitive sales tactics to win business

  • Lead or participate in contract negotiations

  • Ambassador for EcoStruxure Power


This job might be for you if:

  • Requires BA degree or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years industry knowledge and experience in commeical and technical sales and pricing.

  • Technical expertise for low and medium voltage switchgear.

  • Expert or Advanced product and application knowledge as well as an understanding of the CPP and bid process.

  • Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, relationship building and organization.

  • Proven leadership influence with Sales.
