Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Test Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing and automation within a fast-paced and collaborative environment with a strategic emphasis on automated software testing. The primary goal is to assist with test automation, research various automation tools, and develop test automation prototypes that can be demonstrated to the team.

Responsibilities:


  • Automated Test Development:

    • Learn the current automation testing tools and framework.

    • Assist with automation runs and interpreting test results.

    • Develop new automation tests and maintain existing automation tests.




  • Research Automation Tools:

    • Independently research new uses for existing automation tools.

    • Independently research ways to use existing tools or new tools to verify the functionality, performance, and scalability of our software applications.




  • Develop Prototypes:

    • After completing research, develop prototype for new uses of automation, which may include load testing and/or performance testing or any other solution that creates additional efficiencies and time savings for the QA team.

    • Demonstrate prototype to the team.




  • Team Work:

    • Participate in Scrum ceremonies.

    • Assist team members in working tickets as needed.

    • Participate in pair programing and code reviews as learning opportunities arise.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and driven.

Healthcare Software Business (HSB) Intern Program at Harris Novum

The Harris Novum Healthcare Software Business (HSB) Intern Program has three main objectives: 

Objectives 



  • Grow experience: provide undergraduate students with a first (or near-first) experience working within an industry-leading healthcare software business 


  • Build skills: promote development of a set of business, self-reflection, and interpersonal skills that will serve undergraduate students in a range of healthcare, software, or business positions 


  • Gain insights: instill self-awareness, ownership, and agency in each undergraduate student so they can more readily navigate healthcare, software, or business careers 

Description 

Overview 

Selected students will spend 2-3 months embedded as interns in an industry-leading healthcare software-as-a-service (SaaS) company.  

Program Leadership

A Program Director and Executive Leader administer the HSB program and ensure the intern receives feedback on character, skills, growth, and performance. An Executive Mentor is assigned to each intern and serves as a consistent professional resource for the duration of the internship.  

Program Structure 

The program delivers core curriculum content and project-based work.

Core Curriculum 

Core curriculum sessions are delivered by domain experts and will cover company best-practices in: 

(1) Leadership & Management  

(2) Finance & Accounting  

(3) Operations & Human resources   

(4) Sales & Marketing   

(5) Professional Services & Customer Support  

(6) Cybersecurity & Healthcare Data Security  

(7) Research & Development  

(8) Product Development

Projects

Interns embed in at least one department and complete an individual or group project with the support of a Project Sponsor. Project Sponsors serve as the point resource for the intern for the project, integrate the intern into departmental meetings, and help the intern navigate interactions within the department and wider organization. At the conclusion of the project period interns summarize their project findings in oral and/or written format.  

Who should apply? 

Undergraduate students with an intention of pursuing a first job or graduate degree in healthcare, software, or business.

Eligibility and Deadlines

Eligibility 

To be eligible to apply for the HSB Program applicants must be: 


  • At least 18 years of age

  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • An undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university; with at least one semester left of undergraduate education by the time the HSB starts

The completed application form, letter of recommendation, and transcripts must be submitted by April 1, 2024
