Sr. Prin AI/Data Science Engineer

In this exciting role as a Distinguished AI/Data Science Engineer you will utilize data - spanning from simulations to bench and clinical data - to develop clinically meaningful algorithms for oximetry technology. You will work with members of the algorithm and product development teams to improve the performance of oximeters through the application of machine learning and signal processing, mathematical modeling, and experimentation.

ACUTE CARE AND MONITORING focuses on improving outcomes associated with respiratory compromise, deep vein thrombosis, nutritional insufficiency, and healthcare associated infections.

A Day in the Life

• You will support patient monitoring product development and lifecycle maintenance by building, analyzing, and evaluating data to identify opportunities and generate actionable insight and solutions.

• You will be responsible for defining, designing, and developing robust system simulations and analyzing clinical data to aid in the development of algorithms for patient monitoring products.

• You will work to optimize and accelerate the use of data - from simulations, bench testing and clinical studies - to enable design decisions and ensure technology safety and efficacy.

• In product development projects, you will use machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy.

• You will be a technical lead for algorithm develop and provide mentorship lower level engineers

• Looking for a seasoned, strategic-minded technical individual with extensive medical device expertise.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Algorithm development experience
  • Strong SW tool skills (Matlab, Python etc.)

Nice to Have


  • Experience designing and developing algorithms, simulations, and models.
  • S trong data analytics and statistical tool skills (Power BI, Tableau, Minitab, etc.)
  • Experience with machine learning and deep learning
  • Business acumen (strong understanding of how business operates, and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs)
  • Demonstrated strong systems and critical thinking.
  • T horough understanding and wide application of technical principals, theories, and concepts for medical devices
  • Experience with test method development and medical device quality and regulatory requirements
  • General knowledge of related principals including electromechanical, tissue optics, physiological signals, etc.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
  • Experience and capability of working with global and/or remote team members
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects and be able to successfully manage time and priorities

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
