Role Overview:
As an integral part of the senior management team, the Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of Six Rivers Media, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, detail-oriented professional with a passion for media and a commitment to supporting the financial health and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting practices, budgeting, financial planning, and analysis. Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
Strategic Planning: Work closely with the senior management team to develop financial strategies that align with the company's goals. Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain internal controls to manage financial risks effectively.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, professional growth, and collaboration.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices in financial management.
Vendor & Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants. Act as a key financial contact for vendors, clients, and external partners.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
Experience with healthcare plans, workers compensation, long term disability, group life insurance, flexible spending (FSA) and 401k Plans. Able to communicate benefit information to existing and new employees and work closely with the HR administrator. The HR administrator oversees most of the benefits; however, you would be the onsite contact for employees and responsible for the monthly reconciliation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Experience in media or publishing is a plus but not required.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
