Western Reserve Pure Water in Cleveland is searching for our next Field Service Technician/Welder.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for all aspects of welding and fabrication, including but not limited to: processing various raw materials for fabrication of basic to highly complex fabrication duties, and performing additional welding duties in accordance with applicable codes and company policies.  This position will also assist the service department as required.  A Fabrication Technician must be able to communicate clearly with customers to ensure they are meeting the customer’s needs while representing the company in a professional, positive, helpful and dependable manner so that the customer’s experience is exceptional.

Responsibilities:

• Process various raw materials for fabrication of basic to highly complex fabricated parts.


• Interpret engineering drawings/schematics in order to fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.


• Ensure all welding and fabrication is performed to the quality standards required for each project.


• Ensure red-line process is followed; recommending modifications and improvements when applicable using weld symbols and dimensions.


• Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment and consumable failures such as spring liners, and tip nozzle insulators.


• Assist with completion of installation and repair/service of water treatment equipment in commercial venues following Company Standard Operating Procedures when applicable.


• Provide timely and effective resolution of service issues relating to all commercial customers, including but not limited to, equipment repair, installations, re-beds, product deliveries, applications, and others as assigned.


• Complete the sale of equipment and other supplies where appropriate (revenue generation).


• Assist Sales Representatives with commercial installation and equipment changes.


• Ensure truck is loaded with all tools and equipment necessary to complete all appointments for the day


• Accurate and legible completion of all required paperwork, including timesheets, material orders/warranty cards, installation/service work orders, and field orders.


• Provide telephone technical support when necessary.


• Conduct self in a positive and cooperative manner, and communicate in an open and positive way with both customers and coworkers.


• Provide assistance and/or training to coworkers and other departments whenever possible to support company-wide goal of exceeding customer’s expectations.


• May be required to perform duties of Route Delivery position when needed.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.


• Must be able to successfully pass a DOT Physical, & DOT Drug Screen.


• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements.


• Must be at least 21 years of age or older, and be able to successfully pass, and maintain, an acceptable driving record check to be insurable by the Company in order to operate a company vehicle.


• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs on a repetitive basis.


• Experience in FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-P, TIG, GTAW, SAW, SMAW, and Carbon Arc welding from blueprints required.


• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.


• Experience operating a variety of hand and power tools is required.


• Must be able to understand and apply NDE codes and requirements.


• 1-2 years of service technician experience preferred with direct and hands-on installation commercial water treatment equipment.


• 2-5 years of welding experience preferred.


• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial plumbing flow and pipe soldering preferred.


• Ability to thrive and multi-task in an active working environment.
