SCOPE OF ROLE


Reporting the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Supervisor, Nursing Float will champion the implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with leading the service line Nursing Team members at designated sites. The Supervisor, Nursing Float drives initiatives that contribute to patient access, engagement, and positive clinical outcomes for patients and is responsible for managing assigned service line, including MAT or Psychiatry, nursing personnel and float team members.                                                                                                                       


HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED:



  • Effectively manage and oversee the daily objectives and operations of the nursing team at various sites in need of coverage.   

  • Actively engaged overseeing the team member's individual performance which should include ongoing coaching, development, and meeting objectives through the annual review process.

  • Lead by example providing ongoing communication, teaching, and training for all team members.

  • Actively lead team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work productivity, quality, and efficiency of the team.

  • Support the Site Nurse Manager and ACNO in developing and implementing metrics for monitoring program effectiveness, maintain clinical protocols to support an evidenced based patient care delivery model, care coordination, and quality improvement efforts

  • Support the Site Nurse Manager and ACNO in developing and leading effective standardization efforts related to clinical procedures, processes, and workflows to achieve high-quality, cost-effective care.

  • Ensure clinical procedures and screening practices are compliant with state and federal standards, as well as evidence based practice.

  • Champions success of initiatives, practice frequent face to face interaction with staff, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement and providing education and feedback.

  • Assist team with patient care as needed, modeling and driving clinical excellence. Plan, execute and maintain daily productive nursing assignments/prescriber pairings to meet patient care needs.

  • Maintain engaged Team and work closely with the nursing supervisor assigned to the site.

  • Coordinate and meet patient care needs within department, across organizational service lines.

  • Flexibility to cover all service line nursing teams, may require availability to cover remotely if multiple sites are in need of coverage.                                                   


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:



  • Completion of an approved program in registered nursing required.

  • Valid unencumbered RN license in the state of Ohio required.

  • 3+ years’ of total RN experience with2+ years of nursing supervisory experience preferred.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • 3+ years’ of primary care, ambulatory, acute care, residential, or in-patient nursing experience preferred.

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • A working knowledge of mental illness and the disease concept of chemical dependency is preferred.

  • Proficient with technology and electronic medical records.


WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.

  • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.

  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work. 

  • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.

  • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.

  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

  • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.

  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.

  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
