JOB SUMMARY:
The Information Services (IS) Server Manager is responsible for delivering and managing a high performing and highly available systems landscape. This role works with multiple IS teams to assist with projects, initiatives and resolution of support issues. Besides managing team resources, this role establishes, tracks, and reports on key performance metrics to demonstrate the overall performance of the team.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: List the essential job responsibilities in descending order of importance.
1. Manage daily activities and resources for the team
2. Set team vision and align priorities with senior IS management
3. Work with business sponsors to identify any technology needs and identify potential solutions for them
4. Maintain on-call rotation and ensure that team members are responsive as needed after hours
5. Document standard processes and procedures
6. Evaluate new and emerging infrastructure automation technologies for use at Medline
7. Coach team members in technical and professional aspects of their jobs
8. Work with senior leadership to set quarterly goals and track progress against plans.
9. Create and maintain performance metrics used to measure and improve performance
10. Manage key vendor relationships and engage in negotiations as necessary
11. Work with other IS and business units in cross-team initiatives and projects, provide project management for smaller initiatives as needed
12. Manage support contracts and agreements for related technical software
13. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Consistently interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medline's Code of Ethics and other corporate policies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : requires a Bachelor's degree in business or IT related field.
Relevant Work Experience
3 Years' experience managing technical team and performing performance evaluations
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong technical background with system infrastructure including server OS, virtualization, network storage and cloud technologies
Superior oral and written communication skills; able to communicate at all levels of the organization
Comfortable working in a collaborative environment
Demonstrates excellent analytical skills
Works well independently, exercises good judgment
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Willingness to work flexible hours and be available as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant Work Experience
Experience managing enterprise level data centers and hybrid cloud deployments
Certification / Licensure
IS Infrastructure or governance certifications such as Microsoft Azure or Windows, Linux, ITIL, Scrum
Work Experience
Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, Visio & Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience managing international teams in different time zones
Understanding of ITIL/ITSM and project management Methodology
General knowledge of network operation, IP subnets, routing, and switching
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Microsoft Azure IAAS Services management
Hashicorp Terraform or other automation software
Configuration management software such as Ansible or SALT
Linux operating system and management practices
Enterprise storage systems experience
Commvault backups system experience
