Job Title: Manager Cybersecurity

Department: Security Architecture and Engineering - Security and Privacy

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Overview:

Insulet is searching for a person to lead our Device and Software security team. This is a critical role responsible for a team of Security Engineers who partner across the company to ensure we deliver high quality software by embedding state-of-the art practices into our systems development lifecycles. The role will report into the leader of Security Architecture and Engineering, as part of a larger Security and Privacy team that serves the whole company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software vulnerabilities, cybersecurity best-practices, and risk management strategies within to highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities:


  • In short, come in and help us establish a cutting-edge, devsecops program so we can win against our competition in the market.

  • Build, mentor and guide a high-performing team of 4-6 security engineers, to achieve clear goals and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Refine and implement a comprehensive device and software security strategy that is aligned with the company's overall goals and risk appetite.

  • Partner with other security teams and leaders to ensure vulnerabilities, risks, operations and other activities are executed in a highly efficient, and scalable manner.

  • Partner across the organization to ensure software projects incorporate security best-practice while also enabling our organization to scale at the speed of software development.

  • Participate in, and sometimes lead, incident response activities guided by our established process owned by our security operation partners

  • Develop strong relationships with our security vendors, establishing clear requirements, assessing needs, and ensuring we are using our tools to their full potential.

  • Guide the planning and execution of team and organization objectives in partnership with program management support.


Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:


  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar field; or 6+ years hands on experience in software and/or security teams.

  • 2+ years' experience in technology management.

  • 1+ year experience managing projects and cross-functional activities

  • Ability to clearly communicate objectives, outcomes, and risks

  • Ability to operate across team boundaries, beyond security and privacy

  • 2+ Experience with SDLC tooling (SAST, SCA, etc.)

Preferred Skills and Competencies:


  • CISSP, CISM, CSSLP or other relevant cybersecurity certification is highly valued, though not required.

  • Experience leading projects and/or teams in a regulated environment such as medical device

  • Familiarity with the FDA premarket and postmarket cybersecurity requirements.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,860.00 - $202,675.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
