Job Description:

The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible for providing residents with prompt and courteous routine daily nursing care and services per the resident's assessment and care plan. Complies with Federal, State, and Local standards for community operation. Incorporates Generations' Mission, Vision, and Values into their daily work and interactions with others.

Schedule: 



  • Full-time or Part-time working 2 pm to 10:15 pm and part-time working 6 am to 2:15 pm or 10 pm to 6:15 am

  • 16-36 hours per week, 8 Hour Shifts  

  • Weekend and holiday availability preferred


Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to the following:




  •  Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence while assisting them with personal care and activities of daily living.




  • Assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan




  • Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.




  • Documents services performed in the patient chart.




  • Ambulates, turns, and positions patients.




  • Clean and disinfect patient areas.




  • Tracks I&Os; checks vital signs (TPR) and weight; specimen collection, and post-mortem care.




  • Monitor the resident’s skin condition with routine care. Report any presence of skin breakdown to the nurse immediately.




  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect, and promote and protect all residents’ rights.




  • Follow facility policies, and state and federal regulations to ensure a safe environment to protect residents and staff.




  • Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator. Protects residents from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.




  • Use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to ensure the safety of self and residents.




  • Completes all assigned training and skill competency.




  • Follow established infection control policies and procedures.




  • With specialized training and written approval, may perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned area.




Education and Experience:




  • A high school diploma or GED is required




  • One (1) year of relevant experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant or Caregiver is highly desired.




  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification per the laws of the state




  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.




  • Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.




Supervision:




  • Must be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions. Works closely with all other clinical staff regularly.




  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities
