The retail associate is responsible to perform numerous tasks throughout the store including guest interaction, cleaning and upkeep, cash register, restock, personalized gift assistance, and open/close duties. While performing these tasks, employee will interact with guests in a positive, energetic manner that is both welcoming and helpful. Additionally, this role is responsible for identifying and solving problems for shoppers and assisting in the achievement of retail sales goals.

Check out customers utilizing cash register to process transactions and wrap/bag items to protect shopper purchases
Assist shoppers by making them aware of special offers, upcoming events, and loyalty program benefits
Work alongside guests to create personalized gifts utilizing in-house, propriety software and laser engraving equipment
Willingness to cross-train in all areas of the store - show floor, register, personalization, restock, outlet, and housekeeping
Able to maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high shopper volume and special events
Work alongside rest of staff to create a genuine, positive experience for each and every customer
Able to manage multiple tasks such as assisting customers while labeling products, stocking inventory, cleaning, etc.
Follow P. Graham Dunn operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety employees and guests
Maintain a clean and organized show floor and personal workspace
Should be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Strong ability to communicate well and practice patience with both employees and customers
Must be a self-starter, problem-solver, and maintain ability to efficiently produce high quality work
Maintain a thorough and on-going knowledge of P. Graham Dunn products, services, and store operations
Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Engage with and understand retail guests through clear and pleasant communication
Complete sales transactions quickly and accurately while adhering to cash protection procedures; handle returns, refunds and exchanges (with manager assistance)
Assist with opening and closing procedures - cleaning, merchandising, point of sale, etc.
Be willing to fulfill special order requests, help with online orders, and customer pickups
Maintain a flexible schedule in order to participate in special events, extended holiday hours, etc.
Perform inventory tasks including product check in, labeling, restock, cycle counts, returns, and pricing updates
Learn, understand, and be able to assist with the production of personalized gifts for guests
Assist with visual merchandising and seasonal resets when needed, as well as general store and grounds upkeep
Additional duties as assigned store manager and assistant managers
Qualifications
Read, write and comprehend the English language
Maintain ability to use a cash register and additional required technology
Stand for extended periods of time
Lift a maximum of 50 pounds overhead for stocking merchandise
Working knowledge of math, numbers, money counting and making correct change
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills (or a desire to learn)
Work at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationships

The employee constantly positions him/herself, including under counters, fixtures or in storage areas to operate a variety of office machines, such as a cash register, computer, fax machine, calculator, computer printer, etc.; stock merchandise on shelves, counters and tables, handle inventory, clean the store, etc.
The employee is required to consistently move about inside the store to greet and sell to customers, stock or arrange merchandise, inventory; clean the store, etc. The person in this position frequently communicates with customers, both in person and over the telephone to meet, greet, service and sell products; must be able to document incidents with ability to accurately exchange information in these situations.
The employee frequently ascends/descends a mobile ladder or step stool to access shelves, stock shelves, arrange merchandise, clean the store, etc. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, carrying at a specified distance dependent on work area, soliciting assistance from a co-worker if necessary.
