ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking passionate, curious, and team-oriented individuals for a Research Manager position. A qualified applicant has several years of experience with the public opinion research process, end-to-end, from implementation to analysis to turning it into actionable advice. They will also possess strategic-thinking, communication skills, and project management skills.

This position will primarily support our International Politics, Policy, & Public Affairs specialization, which includes Campaign-driven research and tactics to address key issues for advocacy groups, NGOs and others through community engagement and the development of public policy positioning.

Therefore, experience working with clients and vendors internationally is required to be successful in this role.

We are a fully remote company, allowing our staff to work anywhere in the US.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to oversee and manage the fielding of domestic and international quantitative and qualitative research projects. Specific tasks may include:

    • Drafting surveys, qualitative question guides, and screening questionnaires

    • Making decisions on research design including sampling and quotas

    • Vendor communication and project management

    • Monitoring and overseeing progress of research in-field, including opportunities to attend focus groups and other in-person research

    • Managing, delegating to, and overseeing junior staff work

    • Making key decisions on weighting of data

    • Assisting in analysis including memo-writing and PowerPoint deck-building

    • Helping set, follow, and track project budgets

  • Managing client relationships, including:

    • Communicating directly with clients about project deadlines, requirements, and insights

    • Providing your opinion and strategic thinking to analyze and come to a consensus on story and strategy for clients

    • Presenting data and insights to clients as willing

  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff, including:

    • Providing guidance to junior analysts to expand their capabilities and knowledge

    • Helping create, follow, and implement company processes


REQUIREMENTS

ORGANIZATION

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Must be comfortable operating in a remote setting, collaborating virtually while remaining engaged with colleagues.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team or independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including comfort supporting research analysts and senior team members.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and vendors.

  • Ability and willingness to mentor and support junior staff

TECHNICAL

  • Undergraduate degree required.

  • Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodology, from implementation to analysis.

  • Must be strongly familiar with quantitative public opinion research methodologies, including (but not necessarily all) online panel, live phone dialing, face-to-face interviews, and more.

  • Must be strongly familiar with qualitative public opinion research methodologies including (but not necessarily all) IDIs, focus groups, qualboards, and more.

  • Experience setting up in-person qualitative research preferred.

  • Public opinion research experience in countries beyond the US is required.

  • Must be able to turn data into strategic insights for clients.

  • Proficient with MS Office, especially PowerPoint, required.

  • Proficient with Google Apps.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Job Title and compensation based on education and experience. Pay band range: $95,000-$125,000
