Job Description:

SUMMARY: To manage the planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling of operations to achieve plant profit, productivity, quality and safety objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Authorize and manage expenditures within the approved budget for the plant.
Hire, responsibly direct, review, counsel all employees within area of responsibility. Participate with Human Resources on the effectiveness of our employee training program.
Be able to identify all sources that influence the P&L and develop alternatives and improved procedures which positively affect the performance of the plant.
Ensure plant compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as related to production (includes OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, EEO, etc.).Establish objectives and goals to maintain the sanitation and operation of the plant to reflect the quality image of the company.Keep accurate reports and records of plant operational performance against standards including efficiency, waste, safety and quality measures. Direct the planning and scheduling of necessary personnel and partner with Maintenance to plan machinery and equipment downtime, preventive maintenance and process controls to achieve plant goals and optimal costs.Participate in development of capital budgets to assure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods and proper Sanitation of equipment. Understand the plants manufacturing capabilities and manage all phases of the plant operations so that production of quality cases/hour is maximized.Develop programs to train all levels of employees to ensure quality job performance and progression of employees.Assure adequate staffing to meet productivity needs. Evaluate new hires and ensure evaluations are prepared and conducted for all new employees.Demonstrate and support Company values in decision making and all activities.Effectively enforce company policies in a timely manner.Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental statutes and regulations.Develop and implement leadership development and coaching plans for subordinate managers and supervisors. Prepare performance evaluations of direct reports and conduct or oversee performance evaluations of all department employees.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience:
10 15 years of experience in production and operations management Experience with consumer products, focusing on the food industry preferred 5 10 years of production and supervisory experience Experience implementing process improvements and best practices

Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Sound management skills with a history of success stories in a leadership role Self-motivated and willing to learn Control understanding and execution Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
RELATIONSHIPS:
In the event of an absence, the duties of this position will be covered by the Director of Manufacturing, who has been successfully trained on the functions of Manufacturing Manager.Works closely with manufacturing, packaging and support department leadership, including logistics, quality, maintenance, engineering, R&D, sourcing and human resources.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, use hands and fingers and climb stairs. This job requires the employee to be able to read, write and communicate orally in English. The employee must be able to hear and have color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection required
