Glass Setup Operator at Ametek, Inc. in Rosemead, California

Job Description:

Glass Operator performs to set up and operate glass press to manufacture glass preforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect preforms for dimensions and quality.
• Perform first article test of preforms.
  
• Maintain production standards at acceptable levels at all times.
  
• Sinter, load and unload glass preforms.
  
• Select correct sinter temperature on sintering furnace.
  
• Perform press set-ups to manufacture preforms.
  
• Manufacture preforms to specified print dimensions.
  
• Assure the use of proper tool selection.
  
• General housekeeping as required.
  
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor or management.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• Basic math skills, good vision (natural or corrected) and excellent hand dexterity in both hands.
  
• Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  
• Ability to read, understand, and fill out charts necessary for continuous process improvement.
  
• Knowledgeable with all operating tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and electronic balance.
  
• Ability to perform in a production environment with unusual conditions such as high volume noise level, dust and temperature changes.
  
• Ability to repeatedly lift objects weighing 10 to 15 Lbs. and up to 60 Lbs.
  
• Available to work overtime if necessary
  
• Basic math skills, good vision, natural or corrected, and excellent hand dexterity.
  
• Must be flexible in regards to overtime and week-end work schedules.
