Job Description

Position Title: Shipper
Department: Shipping Department
FLSA Status: Hourly
Position Summary: Prepare product for shipment to Fontana Fasteners customers.
Essential Functions: • Safely operate mobile equipment within the facility.
• Pick and put away products using information provided.
• Read and interpret customer orders and labels.
• Follow instructions and process job specific paperwork, including
packing slips and bill of ladings.
• Operate labeling equipment, such as UPS computer and RF units.
• Perform cycle counts, dock audits, and quality checks.
• Load and unload trucks ensuring all products are correctly processed.
• Recognize and handle both domestic and export loads.
• Able to lift and move heavy loads by hand, if necessary.
• Follow instructions on assigned tasks and seek clarification when
needed.
• Maintain cleanliness standards.
• Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities: • Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions.

• Possess good math skills required.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment, such as stand up forklift
equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 40+ pounds on a regular basis and to stand 8+ hours
daily.
• Knowledge of Windows based applications and company specific
software.

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Familiarity with warehousing processes and procedures. Experience

using mobile equipment.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a warehouse environment. Standing is required use
of stand up forklift equipment. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy
containers with physical effort in required. Willingness to work overtime
as well as weekends and holidays, as needed.
