Quality Control Inspector

Summary

Perform quality inspections of raw materials, purchased parts, and manufactured products to ensure compliance with all quality requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts and raw material to ensure that they meet quality requirements.
• Perform in-process inspections of fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure that they meet quality requirements.
• Perform final inspections on completed equipment to ensure that it meets quality requirements.
• Perform and/or witness quality testing of equipment to include hydro testing, noise testing, and factory acceptance testing.
• Complete and maintain inspection records and communicate inspection results to Quality Manager and Production Manager.
• Create and track NCRs for nonconforming parts and material.
• Assist with corrective action reports, internal audits, and continuous improvement projects.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• 3+ years' experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Detail oriented and safety focused.
• Proficient with common measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gages.

• Proficient reading blueprints and technical specifications.
• Experience performing VT, PT, and MT inspections a plus. Level II certification is strongly preferred.
• CWI certification is desirable.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management system.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills .
• Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of MIL standards is a plus.
• Experience operating forklift and overhead crane is a plus.
• Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.

Non-temperature controlled fabrication environment.
