Quality Control Inspector
Summary
Perform quality inspections of raw materials, purchased parts, and manufactured products to ensure compliance with all quality requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts and raw material to ensure that they meet quality requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections of fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure that they meet quality requirements.
- Perform final inspections on completed equipment to ensure that it meets quality requirements.
- Perform and/or witness quality testing of equipment to include hydro testing, noise testing, and factory acceptance testing.
- Complete and maintain inspection records and communicate inspection results to Quality Manager and Production Manager.
- Create and track NCRs for nonconforming parts and material.
- Assist with corrective action reports, internal audits, and continuous improvement projects.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Detail oriented and safety focused.
- Proficient with common measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gages.
- Proficient reading blueprints and technical specifications.
- Experience performing VT, PT, and MT inspections a plus. Level II certification is strongly preferred.
- CWI certification is desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management system.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills .
- Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of MIL standards is a plus.
- Experience operating forklift and overhead crane is a plus.
- Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
