Job Description:
The Meridian Star, an award-winning, three-day a week newspaper, publishing news digitally 24-7, is seeking a full-time sports/news reporter who can react quickly to developing stories and shift gears for deep dives into news of consequence.
The reporter will be responsible for covering local sports news, as well as general assignment reporting and content for special sections. The applicant will need to be able to write clear, concise, and compelling articles for print and online publication. They most also possess the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to evolving news priorities.
The reporter will be passionate about journalism, have a bachelor’s degree and have solid training in AP style news writing and reporting or quality newsroom experience.
