Join Mizuho as a Senior RMBS banker.

Job Summary


  • RMBS banker responsible for origination, financing, and securitization for top tier US non-bank mortgage originators, aggregators and servicers.  The banker will be responsible for originating and execution of warehouse lines and securitization opportunities working with the rest of the team

  • Critical execution, client coverage, and ideas-generating role to drive growth of RMBS origination in the build out of this new business

Job Description


  • Collaborate with junior and fellow senior bankers for high touch market coverage of client base. Originate new business by creating, developing and presenting funding ideas across residential mortgage collateral types, taking lead in drafting client presentations and pitch book materials

  • Lead transaction execution process across third parties (issuers, lawyers, rating agencies, accountants, trustees, etc.), review offering and transaction documents, prepare sales memos and internal approval documents, coordinate transaction settlement, amongst other responsibilities 


  • Collaborate with junior and other senior bankers and other internal parties on M&A and other strategic transactions where residential mortgages are expected to play a role 

  • Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business 

  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities 

  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requisite experience includes 6+ years exposure to the debt capital markets (capital markets experience at an RMBS issuer, rating agency, investor, RMBS underwriter or RMBS accounting/consulting firm preferred). Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure.


  • BS/BA in business, finance, accounting, economics or similar technical field, or MBA

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint) required

  • Experience with collateral due diligence is a plus

  • Excellent work ethic and willingness to contribute broadly to achieve team and company objectives

  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as technical and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Ability and willingness to travel every quarter

  • Experience with CAS and Intex

The expected base salary ranges from $100,000- $250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
