Job Title: 2nd Shift Behavior Technician
Location: Burnsville, MN
Work Schedules:

2nd Shift: (Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, 3:00pm-11:00pm. Shift available in Brooklyn Park, Apple Valley, and Burnsville). MUST have some weekend availability, this is not a Monday-Friday schedule.

Other Work Schedules Available:

Overnight Awake (Wednesday-Wednesday, 7 days on, 7 days off, 11:00pm-7:00am. Shift available at Burnsville)
Part-Time 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:00pm 2-3 days during the week. FT hours are available if you can also work 2nd shift every weekend. Shift available at Burnsville).


Summary:
The Behavior Technician delivers person-centered and behavioral support to individuals with varying degrees of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and/or related conditions as well as mental health diagnosis and complex medical needs. The Behavioral Technician provides direct assistance, supervision, and behavioral management in addition to teaching home and community based community living service categories. The Behavior Tech promotes community participation and integration to increase individuals independence and enable their freedom to pursue joy.

Required Skills and Experience:

2+ years of experience working with individuals who have high behaviors (biting, hitting, kicking).
2+ years of experience with working individual with severe and persistent mental Illness and chronic medical conditions.
2+ years of experience with implementing Positive Support Strategies and/or behavior management techniques.
2+ years of experience with de-escalation and restraint.
Strong communication and documentation skills to write narratives in grammatically correct sentences.
Ability to interpret behavioral trends; Experience with person-centered thinking and planning preferred
Judgment and decision-making skills to handle crisis situations and day-to-day events
Have demonstrable working knowledge on vulnerable adult's laws, 245D statutes, and other pertinent state regulations applicable to HCBS
Ability to pass background check clearance from MN Department of Human Services
Have a valid Driver's License, maintain a working vehicle, and clean driving records
Good attendance and willingness to be adaptable
