Job Description:

Padagis is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the government channel sales plan and execution for key over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical product(s), including expansion into key territories/states, and partnerships with government programs.

Note: Ideally this position will be based out of the Wyoming, MI (Grand Rapids, MI area) corporate headquarters. We will also consider candidates in other locations commutable to Grand Rapids or Allegan in MI or Minneapolis-St. Paul in MN. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (in-office/remote combination).

Key responsibilities:


  • Working collaboratively with leadership and cross-functional teams to establish a business plan and strategy for expanding Naloxone's presence in the government sector
  • Lead the sales execution and partnerships directly with government entities or through distributors, optimizing access and coverage
  • Identify and target decision-makers and key opinion leaders to unlock opportunities within target states
  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and execution of Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and contracts with government entities, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning
  • Lead contract negotiations and program SOWs with distributor partners
  • Develop direct relationships with government entities and distributor partners to maximize awareness of Padagis and collaborate on solutions to improve access of Naloxone
  • Direct sales forecasting activities, setting ambitious yet achievable performance goals to guide team efforts and resource allocation
  • Spearhead participation in state public health initiatives, collaborating with public health agencies to advocate for programs that support naloxone distribution and awareness
  • Analyze market trends, policy changes, and public health data to inform strategic decisions, and influence state policies to support naloxone distribution and use

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 10 (10+) years of experience in a Pharma/OTC sales role, selling to government entities or through distributors for government business
  • At least 10 (10+) years of experience with contract negotiations in a business setting
  • Demonstrated experience setting segment strategy and leading execution, including a desire to "roll up your sleeves" when needed
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability for relationship management with key stakeholders from all different levels to grow reach and influence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skill

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated clear understanding of the government purchasing landscape for Naloxone and has experience selling directly to state programs or through partners
  • Strong network across government procurement entities
