Position Summary

The Engineering IT Intern reports to the Engineering Manager (or to an assigned Project Engineer) and will be tasked with many responsibilities that could include support of engineers with increasing volume of data entry and management, support development of automation algorithms, create reporting tools for management, writing, or updating procedures, assisting Project Engineers or the Engineering Manager with other improvement projects within the department, etc.

What you'll do


  • Upgrade existing reports and create new management reports using PowerBI reporting platform
  • Upgrade Access dBase and queries to repose and leverage additional data
  • Support automation activities with the Automation Manager and Agile/Magic Administrator
  • Preparation and/or updating checklist or other procedural documents within the engineering department
  • Improvement projects which could include creating CAD models, standard details, etc.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare and check engineering documents.
  • Support management and colleagues in implementing continuous improvement initiatives identified in yearly and long-term goals.

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Degree: Associates or Bachelors (In Progress) Major: Computer Engineering/Programming, IT Technology

  • Experience using Access dBase preferred
  • Experience using SolidWorks preferred
  • Experience using PowerBI or similar management reporting tool preferred
  • Good geometry and trigonometry skills

Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such as walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.

May be required to lift up to 30 pounds and sit for prolonged periods at a desk and/or working on a computer. Must be able to sit, walk, see and hear.
