In this position, you will be part of TASC's agency infrastructure, whose departments collectively assure the overall quality, fiscal responsibility, effectiveness, and impact of TASC's work, and work to advance our mission to build a healthier, safer, and more just society.

We are currently looking for full-time – Grant Development Manager

Starting at $48,000 – contingent upon experience, education, etc.

Summary

This position is responsible for helping achieve the overall agency financial, programmatic, and resource development goals by coordinating and monitoring grant applications and processes, and providing administrative support to the department.

A successful Grant Development Manager possesses strong technical writing skills, attention to detail, project management capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams within the organization. They should also be familiar with the specific requirements and guidelines of different types of grants and funding organizations. This person manages funder relationships, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in development of agency proposals, concept papers, and other departmental reports
  • Research new funding and business development opportunities on a local, state, and federal level
  • Builds and maintains relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, and national level Drafts applications and LOI's to support the Development Department
  • Submitting grant applications via paper or online portals, and maintain list of passwords
  • Maintains master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence
  • Maintains the library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff diversity lists, etc.
  • Provide document editing, proofreading, and formatting assistance for review, dissemination and submission(s)
  • Perform pre-grant submission duties including review of proposal guidelines; composition and of Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)/Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Application (RFA) summaries and timelines; collection and/or organization of administrative proposal documents; and preparation of proposal applications
  • Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement, taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness, including monitoring and maintaining funder reporting schedules and requirements
  • Assembling all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories, etc.; submit reports to funders and donors
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of competitive and non-competitive proposals and renewals to funding entities, including monitoring compliance with all department and funding entity guidelines, time tables, and deadlines
  • Coordinate with collaborating departments and external partners on schedules, internal/external project management documents and deadlines, and development of new and/or securing current materials and resources for inclusion in proposals
  • Work in collaboration with internal team members to provide regular updates on project progress, highlighting achievements, milestones reached, and any challenges encountered
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of contract details, project plans, and all relevant communications
  • Use project management (CRM) and reporting tools to streamline processes and facilitate accurate reporting
Requirements:

Our Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferred; and at least three years of relevant work experience preferred; and/or grant development, preferably in the non-profit field or similar position.
  • Demonstrated analytical and grant management experience as well as superior editing skills
  • Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in effective and efficient manner
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with donor development/CRM software systems a plus
  • Familiarity and experience working with local, national, governmental and Chicago funders a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Demonstrated interest in the mission, vision and values of TASC
  • Familiarity with government and foundation electronic grants systems/portals (i.e., Just Grants, Grant Solutions, eRA Commons, Grants.gov, SAM)
  • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated attention to detail, self-directed, resourceful, and motivated to learn
  • Knowledge of an established Customer Relations Management (CRM) system is preferred

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
