Bowdon - Senior Vice President and Dean for Student Affairs
Bowdoin College seeks an experienced, thoughtful, energetic,
creative, and collaborative senior vice president and dean for
student affairs (SVP/DSA) with the highest standards of excellence
and integrity.
Founded in 1794, Bowdoin has, from its beginnings, embraced the
power of a liberal arts education and the imperative to use
education in service to the common good. Its historic campus is
located in the coastal town of Brunswick, Maine, a place that is
easily accessible and rich in tradition and natural beauty. With
approximately 2,000 students from across the country and around the
world, Bowdoin provides a student experience that develops the
whole student, in both mind and body.
Reporting directly to President Safa Zaki, the SVP/DSA will be a
senior officer of the College and a key strategic leader who will
partner across the College to prepare students to lead; promote
inclusion, community, and discourse; and ensure divisional
excellence and innovation.
The next SVP/DSA will combine an advanced degree in a related field
with significant student affairs and administrative experience in
higher education. They will also be knowledgeable about best
practices, current issues, and future trends in education and
demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and successfully
with diverse groups and individuals.
