Job Description:

Job Summary: The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is a member of the executive staff. The CAO is responsible for the 24/7 administrative operations of the airport authority and leads the following departments: human resources, procurement, and business diversity development.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and improves company policies, processes, procedures, and data collection.
  • Evaluates current organization structure to determine future organizational requirements.
  • Develops long-term business strategies, goals, and objectives to meet organizational requirements.
  • Designs and administers benefits, compensation, and performance recognition programs.
  • Creates business strategies to recruit, onboard, develop and retain talented employees.
  • Trains supervisors, managers, and executives to lead, supervise and develop employees.
  • Evaluates, tracks, and documents employee performance.
  • Creates succession planning roadmaps.
  • Manages human resource information management systems and related policies.
  • Implements recommendations and corrects findings of disparity studies.
  • Manages procurement policies and procurement information management systems.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal laws with regards to Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Civil Rights, Personnel Management, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase revenue and/or reduce expenses.
  • Interacts with Board of Commissioners and key stakeholders of the Airport Authority.

  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Executive Leadership, Strategic Studies, Strategy Development, or related field
  • More than 20 years of experience leading, directing, and managing successful businesses towards the accomplishment of specific goals and objectives. Must have experience leading and supervising employees, creating, and managing budgets, developing, and delivering executive presentations to senior officials and/or governing bodies. Proven record of successful compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification
  • Must earn Certified Member (CM) designation within 24 months of hire or Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) - Must earn AAE designation within 36 months of hire
