The overall purpose of this position is to lead the strategic design, execution and management of a mid-level giving program ($500-$9,999) designed to increase philanthropic support of IEEE through the IEEE Foundation. The successful incumbent manages a caseload of approximately 500 donors primarily outreaching by electronic means (phone and email) raising nearly $1MM annually and continuously qualifying donors for movement into a major gift portfolio. This proactive team member, who is both opportunistic and strategic in his/her approach, will also coordinate prospect research activities.
The role reports directly to the IEEE Foundation Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
(70%) Mid-Level Giving
Leads the strategic design, execution and management of comprehensive fundraising plans and activities to grow mid-level giving ($500 to $9000) at a rate necessary to achieve annual and long-range goals and objectives.
Actively manages and engages a caseload of at least 500 active and lapsed mid-level donors (corporations, foundations, and individuals) growing giving year over year; Work with IEEE Units to secure annual award payments
Partners with other members of the IEEE Foundation team and relevant program partners to develop donor communication and execute a monthly touchpoint cadences across the caseload
Negotiates gift terms and prepares/executes gift proposals and agreements
Qualifies donors to add to Mid-level caseload and those ready to be moved into a major or planned gift caseload
Analyzes data regarding mid-level donor giving behaviors by proactively identifying challenges and concerns, and recommending corrective actions to increase support from current donors, acquire new donors, and reactivate lapsed donors
(20%) Prospect Research
Identifies potential new major and mid-level gift prospects by monitoring giving reports and other data sources
Researches biographical information and prepare prospect profiles for potential and identified major gift prospects
Serves as the subject matter expert for prospect research tool and its integration into the donor database
(10%) Relationship Management
Works with program partners and volunteers to identify and articulate priorities and opportunities for all constituents to be engaged
Serves as relationship manager for assigned program partners, as needed
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Work Experience
4-7 years Professional fundraising and programmatic related experiences Required
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Preferred
Blackbaud certification for Raiser’s Edge or willingness to obtain such within first 90 days

Must be able to work during weekends and/or evenings several times per year and able to travel up to 15% of the year outside of the local region
