Where does the Purchaser / Buyerfit in?

The Purchaser / Buyer will be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for Axiom Group Inc. They will assist in processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management. The Purchaser / Buyerwill work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and assist with purchases based on demand.

Following established procedures, practices and policies to obtain quotations, evaluate proposals, award purchase orders and expedite delivery of goods and services will be requirements of this role.

What you can expect as our next Purchaser / Buyer?
Schedule and release all material used in production.Reconcile both customer and supplier cumulative counts.Manage inventory levels in order to maximize inventory turns.Work with supplier base coordinating incoming shipments.Negotiate agreements by analyzing supplier quotations and terms, achieve the best global commercial condition.Locate new sources of supply and establish new suppliers.Develop and maintain relationship with suppliers.Conduct supplier performance evaluations /supplier assessments.Coordinate incoming material for engineering changes and prototype builds.Maintain computerized inventory with result with physical stocks.Ensure timely delivery of all finished goods as per customer requirements and meet customer delivery performance rating criteria.Interface closely with Production and all plant support groups to ensure activities are defined accurately and executed effectively.KPI measurement, tracking and prioritizing actions towards meeting targetsLead continuous improvement of Purchasing procedures and systems.Participate in the monitoring and management of supplier delivery performance.Provide technical support to problem solving activities such as investigations, interfacing with other plant departments on a continuous basis.Participate in both cross functional and continuous improvement teams.Manage inventory stock levels by applying advanced inventory control techniques; monitoring and update minimum and maximum stock levels.Perform root causes analysis and cycle counts to improve inventory accuracy.Identify situations that require engineering change requests.Create non-conformance reports for defective material.Work on Weekly releases and send releases through EDI.Expedite material according to requirement by building vendor relations.Generate, analyze and interpret reports using excel to track and manage material flow.Work with vendors to resolve EDI issues on POs, invoices and ASN issues.Assists purchasing management with the development of presentations on negotiation strategies for executive management.Other duties as assigned
Are you our next Purchaser / Buyer?
Bachelors in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management.3-5 years diversified purchasing, costing, or related experience.Sound knowledge of cost drivers; commodity indices, foreign exchange, global supply and demand patterns, freight, etc.Ability to apply quantitative analysis skills with a fundamental understanding of material, labor, burden structures, and cost drivers.Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.Working knowledge of statistical methods.Product knowledge in automotive parts or material commodities.Strong communication and negotiation skills: verbal and written.Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving.Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.Tact and the ability to persuade and negotiate, initiative, with problem-solving skillsExcellent skills and experience in contract negotiation and price negotiation in a manufacturing environment.Ability to work in a high expectation environment.Ability to meet performance goals and driven to meet deadlines.Familiarity with Automotive MRP/ERP Systems preferred.Familiarity with TS16949 quality management system standards
