WATER PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle. We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.

DESCRIPTION

As a part of our Civil Engineering team, the Civil Associate will assist Project Engineers with tasks appropriate for a junior engineer, including data review, site review, field documentation, data collection, data organization, data analysis, civil engineering planning and design.

•The majority of your day would be spent on a team performing various tasks for projects in the following disciplines: stream channel restoration design, ecosystem restoration, watershed assessments, watershed planning studies, water supply planning, storm water/drainage way master plans, storm drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping studies, and flood control

•You will work with Project Engineers and Managers who will guide you in the development of deliverables.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

•You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineer, or equivalent work experience; and at least 0-4 years of related experience in surface water or related field.

•Naturally, you'll need computer skills in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS

•You'll need to show coursework in civil engineering design, preferably with an emphasis in hydrology and hydraulics or ecosystem restoration.
