Position Title: Manager Internal Audit – Internal Investigator (M2)

Position Summary


The Internal Investigator will partner with the Director - Internal Audit in conducting investigations, overseeing the fraud awareness program, completing annual risk assessment activities and other administrative tasks related to the operating a best-in-class anti-fraud program.


Essential Job Functions



  • Demonstrate investigation experience and skills, including the ability to develop an investigation approach/strategy, effectively interview employees associated with an investigation, obtain and analyze evidence, draw relevant conclusions, and recommend control enhancements.

  • On behalf of the Company, conduct and coordinate thorough and timely internal investigations involving compliance with internal policies, code of conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Serve as the lead investigator in performing investigative interviews and analyze relevant evidence.

  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and integrity in support of highly confidential and sensitive information.

  • Draft investigation reports, correspondence and status updates.

  • Brief stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to communicate investigation findings, recommendations and track remediation activities to completion.

  • Provide assistance, guidance and support to other compliance and investigation functions within the Company.

  • Prepare clear, comprehensive and cohesive investigative reports and memorandum in a timely manner.

  • Identify, obtain and analyze financial, operational and other data relevant to the investigation of allegations of misconduct and the assessment of enterprise risks.

  • Prepare work papers to adequately document investigations performed with supporting evidence for all forensic findings.

  • Interface with various levels of the organization, including Senior Management, as well as outside Legal counsel, and law enforcement.

  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and complete cases/projects in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.

  • Data analytics, including identifying, requesting, obtaining, reviewing, analyzing, and describing complex financial and operational data; identifying patterns, anomalies, and “red flags;” and creating powerful visuals and graphics for reports and presentations.

  • Lead fraud, ethics and compliance program initiatives and projects.


Education/Certifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) strongly preferred

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) a plus

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar professional designation preferred


Experience/Minimum Requirements 



  • Minimum of five (5) years of internal investigation, audit and/or risk experience

  • Experience developing risk and fraud risk assessments

  • Experience using e-discovery tools a plus

  • Operational auditing experience a plus

  • Fraud investigation experience a plus

  • Consulting experience a plus

  • Data analytics experience a plus

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel up to 30% or more; however, increased travel time can be expected depending upon nature and location of investigation activities.
