The VP Marketing Operations exists to reestablish a unified, cross-segment Marketing leadership team and marketing community, ensuring transversal strategic initiatives are embedded to increase the capability and effectiveness of Marketing across Mars. This leader will also ensure Mars' credibility as an organization renowned for developing world class Marketers and our approaches to Marketing is celebrated by influential industry organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Global Marketing Leadership Council Meetings:


  • Organize and manage the planning and execution of global marketing leadership council meetings.

  • Work closely with the GCMO and global marketing leaders to set agendas, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment across the organization.

  • Coordinate follow-ups and track progress on action items, ensuring timely completion and reporting including calendar management and logistics.


Ensure the Coordination with Execution of Strategic Initiatives

  • Work closely with the Capabilities Lead to ensure alignment of marketing capabilities and resources across the organization.

  • Collaborate on the development of marketing community and implementation of marketing capability-building initiatives.

  • Support the identification and execution of opportunities to enhance marketing capabilities across the organization.

  • Support the MMLC in driving strategic initiatives, including the development and execution of chosen global cross segment marketing strategies


Marketing Community

  • Develop forum for all segment (and division) Marketing leaders to adequately represent their segment needs while ensuring universal needs are prioritized within the MMLC agenda

  • Establish cross-segment Marketing community through communication and best practice sharing forums, in-person events and recognition programs


External Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry forums, agencies, and other external stakeholders.

  • Prepare and support the GCMO and Mars Incorporated at industry events and conferences.

  • Coordinate with media team and partners to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.

Context and Scope


  • Collaborates with Mars CMO and MMLC to ensure clear vision and priorities are maintained and delivered on

  • Actively engage with outside forums to determine the best opportunities for Mars CMO to

  • Supports Corporate Marketing teams to deliver their objectives through clear governance, process management and resource mitigation

  • Establishes and manages internal collaboration networks to foster sharing of best practices across Mars


Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Marketing Industry Certifications


Knowledge/Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with a strong track record of success in managing complex projects and initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and information to a variety of audiences.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Experience in coordinating and managing high-level meetings and events.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, with a strong focus on achieving results.
