The candidate for this position is responsible for the electro-mechanical testing of power distribution equipment and components. Performs verification, validation, and qualification tests. Also collects, prepares, and analyzes data.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Perform assigned laboratory tasks efficiently with supervision

  • Responsible for mechanical systems set up, maintenance and modifications during testing

  • Perform basic analysis of prototype electronic circuits and devices to determine their performance characteristics

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and organized lab facility environment

  • Utilize tools such as current sources, multimeters, power supplies and oscilloscopes

  • Responsible for collecting, preparing, analyzing and reporting data gathered during testing

  • Provide accurate and concise documentation of test results

  • Operation of fork trucks, cranes and other devices to transport & position heavy equipment

  • Solder and de-solder surface mount electronic components

  • Maintain equipment for safe and efficient operation and verify calibration of laboratory equipment

  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards

  • Perform other tasks and incidental duties as may be requested to assure the effective and continuous utilization of assets


  • Associates Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent

  • 3-5 years experience in related field

  • Knowledge and practice of Laboratory Safety Rules

  • Understanding of electricity and electrical systems

  • Experience as an electrician or electrical wiring background

  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and operating laboratory test equipment

  • Experience using data collection software and methods

  • Fluent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to operate in a windows environment

  • May be required to have forklift and crane certifications

  • Must be able to read and understand blueprint/material drawings

  • Job may require reaching, lifting, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, and use of hand/foot controls
