Job Title: Youth Program Manager

Salary Range: $68,000-77,000

About the Position

The Youth Program Manager is responsible for the management of Seattle Goodwill's Youth Programs. The Youth Program Manager will coordinate daily operations and supervision of Youth Program staff. They will build professional relationships and partnerships with Seattle Public Schools, community based youth service organizations, city/county entities, and potential/existing funders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.


  • Maintain and ensure accuracy and procedural compliance of grant-related files, including reports, correspondence, guidance, or other documents.
  • Assist the Grants & Contracts team and Director of Youth Programs in coordinating compliance with grant fund requirements, including educating staff on, conducting internal compliance audits, and preparing appropriate reports.
  • Input data and develop reports, including interpreting youth program data for reporting to grant funders.
  • Manage and coordinate youth program activities and facilities.
  • In partnership with Youth Director and JTE Center Manager, coordinate the development and maintenance of youth programs.
  • Coordinate outreach and recruitment activities; promote program benefits and graduates to potential employers, youth agencies, and service providers.
  • Support community engagement opportunities for youth program participants.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for youth programs.
  • Responsible to support, advance, and contribute to a DEI framework.
  • Collaborate with students, staff and managers to implement student centered DEI initiatives.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and develop and deliver presentations.
  • Responsible for intake, assessment, and selection process annually.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with local area employers that result in consistent productive hiring of youth program student/graduates.
  • Coordinate with community organizations to develop field trips, guest speakers, service-learning projects, and other hands-on learning and work opportunities for youth.
  • Coordinate workshops for partners and community based organizations.
  • Provide regular youth program reports as required.
  • Oversee the development of lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners, including the integration of educational technology.
  • Coordinate and attend youth staff meetings.
  • Schedule youth program staff and program components.
  • Manage the work of consultants, contractors, and memorandum of understandings.
  • Build relationships with youth and families. Administer assessment tests to students.
  • Maintain student records and data to track student progress and retention.

• Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; assist in safety training of employees; report any potential hazards or accidents.

• Work on special projects as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities : Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Collaborate with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and Experience:


  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Science or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education. Master's Degree preferred, however lived-experience and international experience considered in lieu of more traditional, US achieved credentials.
  • Experience: Minimum two years teaching/training experience. Minimum two years of supervisory experience. Minimum one-year experience working with youth ages 14-24.
  • Experience teaching/training students from diverse backgrounds and with varied skill levels.
  • Prior experience in environmental education, wilderness restoration/trails, the retail or customer service industries, college readiness programs, and/or workforce development programs a plus.
  • Working knowledge of state, federal and private foundation regulations and compliance .

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:


  • WA teaching certification or equivalent a plus.
  • Must have valid WA State driver's license and proof of insurance.

Computer/Technology Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Workspace a plus.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Abilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods, communicate with other employees by talking, hearing and operating computer systems. Able to safely lift/push/ pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, standing for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment: Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have reliable transportation, as this position requires travel to offsite meetings and events.
