Laboratory Administrative Assistant 1 at Azzur Group in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Azzur Lab is looking for a lab admin who performs lab procedures, including writing reports, sampling, material receipts, shipping, and lab maintenance.

Working Hours: 8 am-4 pm. Monday- Friday
Responsibilities

Performing Job

1. The lab administrator will write reports and accurately document and summarize the findings of laboratory tests, experiments, or analyses to the customers.
2. Receives and evaluates the condition of samples and determines if appropriate documentation was submitted
3. Logs samples into the laboratory tracking database using the information on the chain of custody form
4. Assigns sample report ID number, creates labels, and acquires laboratory forms required for testing.
5. Ensures samples are stored in appropriate conditions until testing begins
6. Receives reference standards and laboratory materials and initiates the appropriate quality control testing
7. As needed, performs administrative duties such as copying, filing, scanning, and answering phones
8. Assists with shipping of equipment and materials and with conducting general laboratory maintenance activities

Required Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred experience:

• 1-year of professional work experience
• Employment in a laboratory setting

Preferred Knowledge:

• Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions
• IATA/DOT shipping experience
